Yesterday, a Pennsylvania mother endured a beating so brutal that it nearly cost her her life. To make it worse, it was at the hands of the man she was preparing to spend the rest of her life with.
Janea Alston-Goggins took to Facebook yesterday afternoon to share her traumatic story of domestic abuse. Two night ago, Goggins says her fiancée’s violent attack was so vicious that she was compelled to plead for her life.
Though she did not identify this monster, she said she begged him to spare her life while her children and best friend looked on. His response to her cries was simply, “no I’m going to kill you.”
Fortunately, Goggins survived the incident, but not without injury.
Goggins sustained an eye injury so bad that she “had to be life flighted to Presbyterian hospitals trauma unit” where doctors performed emergency surgery to save her eye. Besides almost losing her eye and suffering from numerous cuts, scratches and bruises, she says she was also “bleeding from the brain.”
Now, Goggins decided to offer her experience as a testimony raise awareness for domestic violence against women.
Her Facebook post has been shared more than 20,000 times in just over 24 hours.
She asks that all family and friends continue to lift her and her family up in my prayer during this time.
